Elkem Ferroveld are well on their way on their journey to World-Class. They launched 5S before we got there and there were no unwanted items lying anywhere on site, daily checkups were standard and high level process monitoring was in place. Rosa Zapata and Ian Matheson were privileged to see the front-line teams with their newly-established Mini-Businesses™ in production and maintenance now making their own meaningful contributions towards QSCSM excellence. All of this is so much easier when you have an enthusiastic and supportive boss like Dumisani Makhoba and a great continuous improvement manager like Jeff Nyika (AMSAIIE).
